CHESTER, Pa. –
Ciara Minkel scored a goal in the 10
th minute and the Widener women's soccer team made it hold up to come away with a 1-0 victory over Stevenson to cap Homecoming weekend on Saturday night at Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium.
The win put the Pride at 2-1-1 in MAC Commonwealth play and 6-4-4 overall on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST STEVENSON
- The Pride got on the scoreboard early thanks to Minkel, who scored off a pass from Emily Schall to give them the 1-0 lead.
- From there, the Pride dominated the possession, outshooting the Mustangs, 15-5, in the match.
- Madison Blackshire led the Pride with three shots, one of which was on goal. Schall, Kelly Barr, and Katie Quarry followed with two shots apiece.
- Samantha Coon secured her fifth shutout in goal for the Blue and Gold while making four saves.

Widener will hit the road Tuesday to take on Albright in another MAC Commonwealth match. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
