CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener men's swimming team honored seniors
Daniel Parker and
Garrett Parthemore during its Senior Day meet against Ramapo on Sunday at Schwartz Athletic Center. The Pride lost to the Roadrunners, 119-67.
Parker and Parthemore were recognized for their efforts over the last four years for the program. The two seniors helped the Pride win 18 dual meets and finish in the top five at the MAC Championships in each of the last three seasons.
While honoring their pair of seniors, the Pride did get a glimpse into their future, as first-year swimmer
Jason Mongiovi led the team with two victories. The Fanwood, N.J. native won the 1,000-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly, touching the wall first in the 1,000 free in a time of 10:25.25 and finishing first in the 100 fly in 53.71.
In addition, Parker and first-year swimmers
Joshua Cunningham,
Kyle Cantrell, and
Shane Douthit won the 200 medley relay. The foursome combined for a time of 1:41.65.
Widener also received top-three finishes in the meet from Cantrell (second in 50 free and second in 100 free), Parker (second in 200 free), Cunningham (third in 100 fly),
Patrick Rankin (third in 1,000 free), and
Isaiah Moreef (third in 100 backstroke).

The Pride will be back in action in two weeks when they compete in the MAC Championships from Feb. 10-13 at York.
