CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener men's basketball team overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to take a brief lead in the second half before eventually falling to Hood, 82-71, on Saturday afternoon in its MAC Commonwealth game at Schwartz Athletic Center.
With the loss, the Pride fell to 7-10 overall and 2-7 in MAC Commonwealth play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HOOD
- Trailing, 39-29, at halftime, the Pride managed to take a 61-59 lead with 7:59 left. Jared Peters scored eight of his team-high 15 points during the 32-20 run.
- However, the Blazers went on a 22-10 run to end the game and earn the win.
- With his 15 points, Peters has 1.037 points for his career. The Shillington, Pa., native is now 12 points away from moving into 26th-place on Widener's all-time scoring list.
- Along with Peters, the Pride had three players in double figures, as Kenny Lewis had 13, Pat Holden had 12, and Steven Matlack added 10 points.

The Pride will go back on the road Wednesday when they travel to face Eastern in another MAC Commonwealth game. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
