FREDERICK, Md. – The Widener University field hockey team delivered its fourth shutout victory of the season as it took down Hood College 4-0 in a MAC Commonwealth showdown on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Pride advances to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
HIGHLIGHTS
- First year Jess Alba led all players with two goals and also connected on an assist. Her five goals so far this season are tied for second most out of all first years in the MAC Commonwealth.
- Makenzie Adamson and Juliana Sanchez each added one score a piece. Sanchez has recorded three goals in the past two matches.
- Madi Radnoff added her second assist of the season on Adamson's goal.
- The Widener defense turned in another strong performance and did not allow the Blazers to take a single shot.
- The Blue and Gold offense fired off a season-high 32 shots, putting 21 of them on goal.
