FREDERICK, Md. - The Widener University women's volleyball team earned its first MAC Commonwealth win of the season as it defeated Hood, 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19, on Wednesday night on the road.
With the victory, the Pride are 1-1 in conference play and 9-3 overall on the season.

The Pride tallied 54 kills on the night, with 17 of them coming in the first set. Their 54 kills tied for the second-highest amount of kills they had in a match this season, as they also had that many against St. Mary's on Sept. 4 and had 55 against Catholic University on Sept. 10.

The Pride played incredibly well on defense, as it totaled 76 digs — their most in a match this season. Dutterer led the team with 20, while Rachel DiCarlo (11), Shelby Motz (11), and Barthol (10) were in double figures for Widener.
