Three Pride Players Score As Women's Soccer Downs PSU Harrisburg

Hart and Graves log first career goals, Carman leads MAC Commonwealth in scoring with seventh and eighth

CHESTER, Pa. – Three different Pride players scored a goal as the Widener University women's soccer team delivered a shutout win over Penn State Harrisburg on Thursday evening. With the win, WU advances to 4-2-0 in non-conference play.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Alyssa Carman netted her seventh and eighth goals of the season. Through six matches, she leads the MAC Commonwealth in almost every offensive category including goals, points (16) game-winning goals (4), shots (33), and shots on goal (20).
  • First years Maura Graves and Morgan Hart recorded their first scores in a blue and gold uniform. Graves also picked up her first assist on Carman's second goal.
  • Hannah Berard also connected with an assist on Hart's goal. Her two helpers so far this season ranks her second in the conference in assists.
  • First year goalkeeper Nicole Rende made her first ever appearance in net for Widener to open the second half, allowing no goals and logging a save.
  • The Blue and Gold held a 23-6 shot advantage, including 10 attempts on goal.
 
UP NEXT
The Pride plays its third game of the week on the road against Lycoming College on Sunday, September 26. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
