GAME NOTES
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Arcadia struck first just over a minute and a half into the game, but Widener was able to even things back up near the end of the first period. Senior Jesse Schlosser delivered a feed into the box that Sanchez redirected past the Knights goalie for her first tally of the match.
  • The Blue and Gold took its first lead of the night at the 11:07 mark in the second. Callahan came away with the ball after scramble in front of the cage and buried a shot to make the score 2-1. Less than a minute later, Callahan connected on a pass down the end line to Sanchez and the first year fired in her second score of the evening.
  • Alba delivered the Pride's third goal within six minutes at the second period's midpoint to give WU a commanding 4-1 lead entering halftime.
  • Howe-Consiglio opened the third period with the Blue and Gold's fifth tally. The junior fired off a pair of shots that were saved and finally connected on the third after collecting her own rebound.
  • Arcadia was able to cut Widener's lead to three on a penalty stroke late in the third, but the Pride held Arcadia to just one shot in the final period en route to a 5-2 victory.
