CHESTER, Pa. –
Alyssa Carman scored a goal in the 38
th minute and the Widener University women's soccer team made it hold up en route to posting a 1-0 shutout over Cabrini on Tuesday night on Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium.
Carman connected on the game's lone goal — the first-year forward's sixth of the season — off an assist from junior
Natalie Worth. Carman's goal moved her into a tie for first in the MAC Commonwealth in goals with six and her five shots on the night put here in first place in the conference with 26.
After Carman's goal, the Widener defense took care of the rest, as it allowed only five shots and did not give up a shot in the final 25 minutes of the game. Goalie
Samantha Coon made six saves while notching her second shutout of the season in the victory.
