ASTON, Pa. - The Widener University women's volleyball team picked up wins against Ursinus and Moravian during the Knights Invitational this past weekend at Neumann University.
The Pride posted a 16-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 victory over Ursinus and a 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 win over Moravian on Friday night. On Saturday, they hung tough with Haverford before falling 25-21, 25-18, 25-12.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST URSINUS
- The Pride bounced back from a loss in the first set by registering 42 of their 47 kills over the final three sets.
- Lilyanna Martucci led the team with 11 kills in the match.
- Megan Barthol topped the Blue and Gold with 20 assists. Sydney Nichols handed out 15 assists as well for Widener.
- Rachel DiCarlo served up a match-high four aces.
- Madeline Dutterer tallied 17 digs for Widener.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MORAVIAN
- The Pride rolled to their sweep on the strength of 42 kills.
- Isabella Ricevuto led the team with 11 kills in the match.
- Nichols handed out 17 assists to lead the Blue and Gold. Barthol added 13 assists in the victory.
- Dutterer posted match highs in digs (19) and aces (three).
- Emily Miller showed her presence on the front line, making a match-high three blocks.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HAVERFORD
- The Pride played tough in the first set, as they led, 15-14, before Haverford rallied to win the set and go on to take the match.
- Carly Venit paced the team with seven kills in the match.
- Dutterer led the team with 20 digs.
- Barthol and Nichols were in double figures in assists, handing out 12 and 10, respectively.
- Alnisha Saintilus showed her presence on the front line, making five blocks.

Widener travels to Frederick, Md. on Wednesday to play Hood College in its second MAC Commonwealth match. Match is set for 7 p.m.
