CHESTER, Pa.. - The Widener University women's volleyball team fought hard in its first MAC Commonwealth match against Messiah on Tuesday night, but the Falcons wound up winning in four sets at Schwartz Athletic Center.
MATCH NOTES (10-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23)
- The Pride bounced back from a tough loss in the first set by rolling to a nine-point win in the second set. Carly Venit, Isabella Ricevuto, and Abi Herrin each had two kills in the victory.
- Venit and Ricevuto led the Pride with eight kills. Venit made the most of her kill opportunities, posting a .467 hitting percentage.
- Ricevuto served a match-high four aces.
- Megan Barthol led the Blue and Gold with 17 assists.

Widener travels to Neumann University to play in the Knights Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Pride The Pride plays Ursinus and Moravian on Friday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. On Saturday, they take on Haverford at noon.
