CHESTER, Pa. – First year forward
Alyssa Carman continued her stellar rookie campaign, recording her first ever hat trick on Saturday evening to lift the Widener University women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Immaculata. With the win, the Blue and Gold advances to 2-1-0 in non-conference play.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Carman has scored every single one of the Pride's five goals in its first three matches. She currently leads the MAC Commonwealth in goals, points (10), shots (19), and shots on goal (12).
- The last time a Pride player netted a hat trick was when Lexi Slusher posted three scores in a 3-1 win over Alvernia on October 29, 2019.
- The Blue and Gold outshot the Mighty Macs 24-5 in the match and allowed just two shots on goal, both saved by junior Ashton Houbary in her first start of the season in goal.
- Kayla Taylor picked up her first assist of the year on the match's second goal, collecting a missed save by the Immaculata keeper and sending it over to Carman for the open shot.
