CHESTER, Pa. –
Carter Tran and
Ethan Cox each had nine kills, but the Widener University men's volleyball team fell to Eastern 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 23-25 on Wednesday night in the consolation bracket semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship.

MATCH NOTES
- Tran finished one kill shy of his first career double-double as he notched 11 digs in the match.
- Dylan Beer had six kills and hit .462. He also added four blocks.
- Josh Matchett had a double-double with 15 kills and 33 assists. Matt Lambert had 13 digs and Matt Blaum added 12.
- After falling in the first set, Widener battled back to take the second. The third set was a tight contest throughout as the two teams were tied at 20-20 before the Eagles scored the final five points of the frame.
- Much like the third set, the fourth set was close. Eastern led for the majority of the set and was up 23-20 before the Pride fought back on a kill by Blaum and a pair of blocks from Beer and Alex Arnow. The Eagles rallied to score the final two points to take the match.
