CHESTER, Pa. – Opening its dual meet season, the Widener University women's swimming team claimed a 134-115 victory against the Albright Lions on Senior Day from the Schwartz Natatorium on Sunday.
Emma Reistle and
Kyra Schwerzler led the way for the Pride. Reistle won the 200 free in 2:08.02 before coming back in the next event and claiming the 50 back with a 29.70 clocking. Later in the meet, she took the top spot in the 100 back with a time of 1:03.10.
Schwerzler came away with a first place time of 31.95 in the 50 back. Later, swimming her specialty event, she won the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:10.33. In her final individual event, she showed her versatility, claiming the 200 IM 2:18.45.
The duo also swam the lead two legs of the 200 medley relay. Joined by Tori Freiling and
Azaria Luckey, the quartet won the event in 1:59.54.
Swimming in her final regular season home meet,
Ally Reid contributed to the Pride effort with solid times in the 50 and 100 back and 500 free.
Widener returns to action on Saturday, March 27 when it travels to York (Pa.). The meet is scheduled for noon.
