CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's lacrosse team used a strong start and continued to extend its lead as the Pride downed Alvernia 26-5 on Saturday night.

- Nick Brennan led the offense with six goals.
- Mike Kala'i got his first collegiate points, scoring four times and adding an assist.
- Matt Buckley had a pair of tallies and seven ground balls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Widener had a dominant first quarter, outscoring the Golden Wolves 10-0 as

Paz Gismondi got things started. Mike Kala'I registered his first career goals in a big way with a natural hat trick to make it 6-0. Goals by
Nick Brennan bookended tallies from
Jayce Dyer and
Matt Gress to close the period.
Dyer,
John Petriccione,
Jimmy Knepp and
Matt Buckley found the back of the net in the second quarter as the Pride extended its lead.
The Blue and Gold found rope five times in the third, four of them coming from Brennan.
The fourth quarter was much like the first with Widener posting a 7-0 differential on goals from

Angus Ballentine, Kala'i,
Colin Wingate,
Matt Buckley, and
Elijah Whiting.
