CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's lacrosse team was dealt its first setback of the season as it fell 20-6 against the No. 7 York (Pa.) Spartans.
York struck first with a pair of goals six minutes into the first period and followed up with three more quick scores to give it a 5-0 advantage after one.
Jayce Dyer was the first to find the back of the cage for Widener with a goal at the 6:22 mark of the second.
Connor Heisman converted on a man-up opportunity in the period's final minutes as the Spartans entered halftime up 9-2.
York continued to extend its lead in the final two periods.

Widener returns to action at Quick Stadium to take on the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen on Saturday, March 20. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
