FREDERICK, Md. – The Widener men's basketball team had five players in double figures, but it could not top Hood on Saturday afternoon for its first MAC Commonwealth victory of the season after falling to the Blazers, 100-79, on the road.
With the loss, the Pride are 4-3 on the year and 0-2 in MAC Commonwealth play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HOOD
- Steven Matlack, Pat Holden, Kolbey Woodard, Jared Peters, and Kenny Lewis each scored in double figures for the Pride in the defeat. Matlack led the team with 15 points, Holden and Woodard each had 14, Peters scored 13, and Lewis had 10.
- The Pride played tough against Hood in the first half, trailing 47-44, at halftime. However, the Blazers outscored them, 53-35, in the second half.
- Woodard led Widener with eight rebounds, while Peters paced the team in assists with six.
