CHESTER, Pa. –
Jordan D'Ambrosio poured in 20 points and the Widener women's basketball team put together a strong third quarter to come away with a 66-56 win over Arcadia on Saturday afternoon at Schwartz Athletic Center.
With the win, the Pride are 7-4 overall as they head into the winter break.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
- Trailing, 27-23, at halftime, the Pride stormed back in the third quarter by outscoring the Knights, 28-13, in the period while shooting 12-for-18 (66.7 percent) to take a 51-40 lead. Erin Phelan led the charge for the Blue and Gold, scoring eight of her 16 points in the frame, while Brooke Bachtle scored all seven of her points in the quarter.
- In the fourth period, the Pride kept the Knights at bay thanks to D'Ambrosio, who scored seven of her 20 in the period. D'Ambrosio had 11 second-half points overall.
- The Pride controlled the paint against Arcadia, outscoring the Knights, 46-30, in that area.
- The Pride also scored 23 points off 27 Arcadia turnovers.
