CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener men's basketball team put together a strong second half to beat Farmingdale State, 77-65, on Saturday afternoon at Schwartz Athletic Center.
With the win, the Pride improved their record to 4-1 on the season and gave them their fourth victory in a row.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST FARMINGDALE STATE
- Trailing, 32-31, at halftime, the Pride came out in the second half and outscored the Rams, 46-33. The Pride went on a 17-4 run in the first five minutes of the half and rode that momentum to the victory.
- Pat Holden sparked the second-half comeback, scoring 11 of his 14 points in the half. The Cape May, N.J. native shot 4-of-8 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range in the half.
- Jared Peters led Widener with 15 points, with nine coming in the second half. The Pride also got double figures from Kolbey Woodard, Matt Daulerio, and Steven Matlack, which had 12, 11, and 11 points, respectively.
- As a team, the Pride was on fire in the second half, shooting 60 percent (18-of-30) from the field and from the field and 61.5 percent from three (8-of-13)
