WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Widener women's basketball team put together a strong second half to post a 65-42 victory over Wilkes on Saturday on the road.
Brooke Bachtle led the Pride (2-0) with 12 points.
Erin Phelan added nine points in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST WILKES
- After a close first half in which they led, 33-26, the Pride Brooke the game open in the third quarter by outscoring the Colonels, 17-5, to take a 50-31 lead.
- The Pride had a lot of help from their bench, outscoring Wilkes's bench 32- 10.
- The Pride also held a 16-5 advantage in second-chance points and points in the paint 26-10.
- In addition, the Blue and Gold dominated on the glass, as they out-rebounded Wilkes, 57-38.

The Pride will hit the road again Wednesday to take on Rowan. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
