GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Widener University women's soccer team battled the number 10 ranked Messiah Falcons on Saturday, but was ultimately dealt its third conference setback by a final score of 5-0.
Messiah quickly found the scoreboard to go up 1-0 in the 11th minute. The Pride was able to keep the Falcons to a modest lead through much of the first half, but a Messiah goal with 12 seconds remaining made the tally 2-0 heading into halftime. The Falcons would pull away in the second act, delivering three more scores in the final 30 minutes en route to a 5-0 tally.

Ashton Houbary split time in net for Widener and came up with four saves a piece to slow the potent Messiah offense.
The Blue and Gold returns to action for its final regular season road match when it travels to Eastern University on Tuesday, October 26. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
