GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Widener University men's soccer hit the road to face number four ranked Messiah on Saturday afternoon, but the potent Messiah offense proved too much to contain as the Pride was dealt the conference setback.
Widener held Messiah scoreless through the first 45 minutes despite being out-shot 8-1 thanks in large part to four first half saves from Pride goalkeeper
Vinnie Nocito. However, the Falcons' halftime adjustments proved to be effective as they found the scoreboard just two minutes into the second act. That goal got Messiah's offense going and opened up a barrage of five more scores in the final 20 minutes en route to a 6-0 final tally.
The Blue and Gold returns to action for its final regular season road match when it visits Eastern University on Wednesday, October 27. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
