CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University field hockey team kept its home unbeaten streak alive on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over conference opponent Alvernia. With the win, the Pride advances to 11-3 overall and 3-2 in MAC Commonwealth play, bumping it to third in the conference standings.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Juliana Sanchez scored the match's lone goal late in the second period. Madi Radnoff took a feed from Makenzie Adamson in the midfield as she sprinted towards the cage and fired a shot past the Golden Wolves' goalie that was deflected in by Sanchez on the right side. The score marked the fifth goal of the season for Sanchez as well as the fifth assist for Radnoff.
- Both sides fired off a combined 27 shots with Widener holding a 17-10 advantage.
- Kylie Haberstroh picked up her eighth shutout victory and 11th win overall. The first year made six saves on the afternoon and currently leads the MAC Commonwealth with a .857 goals-against average this season.
- Defender Bryn Marcavage made a defensive save. The junior played all 60 minutes and took every one of WU's six penalty corners.

With just three games remaining in the regular season, Widener travels to Albright College on Wednesday, October 20 as it looks to pick up its fourth conference win. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
