HOW IT HAPPENED
Things started a bit shaky for the Pride as the Knights used a 10-4 run midway through the first set, taking a 12-8 lead. A kill by
Ian Devore sent Beer to the service line where the Mullica Hill, N.J. native ripped off seven in a row, putting the Blue and Gold up 16-12. Neumann answered back, going on top 18-16. Trailing 20-18, Widener rallied last, scoring five in a row on its way to a 25-23 win.
Â
The second set once again saw the Knights on top midway through, leading 14-12. WU proceeded to score 10 of the next 11 points on its way to a 25-19 frame. In the third, Widener went up early. Neumann had a last gasp at the end, but the rally was not to be as the Pride held on for the 25-19 win.
