FREDERICK, Md. – The Widener University men's basketball team fell to the Hood Blazers 92-63 in its regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.
With its win against Arcadia on Tuesday night, the Pride locked up the top seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship and will host the semifinals on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m against the winner of Monday's First Round game between Hood and Lycoming.
HISTORY
- Widener finishes the regular season 19-6, marking its best campaign since 2008-09 when it finished 20-5 and won the MAC Commonwealth Championship as the top seed.
- The last time the Pride hosted a conference tournament game was on February 22, 2017.

- Kolbey Woodard led the Blue and Gold with a career-high 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and tied a team-high seven rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Widener opened the game with back-to-back three-pointers and managed to keep things tight through the first ten minutes. However, a 23-11 scoring spree from the Blazers in the final eight minutes of the first allowed them to take a 20-point lead into halftime. Despite a career performance off the bench from Woodard, Hood continued to pull away in the second half as it cemented the game's final score.
