How it happened
Widener opened the scoring shortly after the seven minute mark. A well-placed cross from Dionisio on the left side landed on the feet of Slusher who put it in the back of the net. Stellar defensive play limited scoring chances for the next 18 minutes. At 25:25,
Melissa Koch found Berard on the right side of the box. The sophomore took a dribble then unloaded a screamer to the far post upper-90, making it 2-0 in favor of the Pride.
Ahead by two at the intermission, the Pride backline stood tall in the second, allowing four shots in the second half. DeSales finally broke through in the 62nd minute, narrowing the deficit to one. The final 28 minutes saw multiple scoring chances by both teams, but the margin stayed at one until the final whistle.
