Radnoff Scores Twice as @WidenerFHockey Downs Drew

MADISON, N.J. – Seven members of the Widener University field hockey team found the back of the cage on Wednesday night, leading the Pride to an 8-0 victory over the Drew University Rangers.

The win marked the most goals in a game for WU in exactly four years to the day. On September 4, 2015, Widener took down Immaculata by a score of 8-0.

Highlights
  • Madi Radnoff recorded the first two goals of her sophomore campaign after leading the team with eight in 2018. She was also credited with two assists.
  • Jesse Schlosser set up her teammates all night, tallying a career-high three assists. It tied a program record set three different times, with the latest coming in 2003. She also scored her second goal in as many games.
  • After being named philafieldhockey.com Defensive Player of the Week this morning, Lexie Eberly stepped up on both ends of the field, grabbing her first goal of the year and helping the Pride defense secure its second consecutive shutout.
  • Kelsi Walker and Jackie Daniels notched their first points of the season with a goal each.
  • Erin Callahan and Margaret Howe-Consiglio both scored the first goals of their careers.
  • Sabrina Roberto and Schuler Stark contributed to the clean sheet, splitting time in the cage.
  • The Pride defense surrendered just two shots throughout the contest.Ā
How it happened
After being held scoreless in the first quarter, the Pride offense responded with four goals in the second. Daniels opened the flood gates nearly two minutes in, receiving a pass from Schlosser, then burying the ball past the Ranger goalie. Radnoff added another in the 19th minute. Not long after, Schlosser made it a three-goal advantage. A penalty stroke goal from Radnoff just before the half saw the Pride head into the intermission with 4-0 lead.

Howe-Consiglio's goal came with almost four minutes remaining in the third, enough time for Walker to stretch the margin to five just before the fourth quarter. Late points from Callahan and Eberly cemented the final score.
