ASTON, Pa. – The Widener University women's volleyball team concluded play at the Knights Invitational on Saturday, falling 3-0 to both Christopher Newport and Catholic.
 
NOTES VS. CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT (17-25, 19-25, 12-25)

• The Pride opened with a strong first set, hitting .440 with 11 kills and no errors in 25 attacks.
• Shelby Motz led Widener with six kills in the match. Hollie Jones and Emily Miller each had five.
• Sydney Nichols topped the team with 13 assists. Ashley McAfee had eight digs.

 
NOTES VS. CATHOLIC (14-25, 24-26, 17-25)

• Claire Kaufmann led the Blue and Gold with nine kills, Carly Venit had eight and Shelby Motz posted seven.
• McAfee had 13 digs.
• Nichols and Emma Wilcock each recorded 17 assists.

Widener returns to action on Wednesday, September 25 when it travels to Albright for a MAC Commonwealth matchup. Opening serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
