Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

@Widener_Soccer Stays Perfect at Home with Win Over Neumann

CHESTER, Pa. – Two goals in the second half of the Widener University men's soccer match against Neumann University lifted the Pride to a 3-1 victory over the Knights on Wednesday night.

With the win, WU remained perfect at home, posting a 5-0 record at Quick Stadium.

Highlights
How it happened
Neumann got on the board first, scoring off a free kick in the 15th minute. Just before the 40-minute mark, Widener knotted it at one. Hurrell took a throw in from the left side of the box, launching it to the center of the 18. Waiting in the middle was Tife, using all of his 6'4" frame to leap above the defense, getting to the ball with his head and guiding it past the Neumann keeper. The teams went into the break tied.

After the intermission, the Widener offense came out hungry, breaking through nearly 13 minutes in. A quick counter-attack forced the Neumann defense out of position. A long-ball from Peter O'Connor found the feet of Brison and the sophomore put the burners on, sprinting roughly 20-yards with the ball on his feet, blowing by the Knights defender, and then beating the keeper low for the Pride's first lead of the contest. Holding a slight edge, Warwick made some crucial stops to keep the margin at one before WU's third goal. A Knights foul just outside of their own box caused a free kick. Bailey lined up to take the set piece, sending a low ball to Morgan who made a tremendous run. Morgan one-timed the pass, placing the ball out of the goalie's reach and sealing the win for Widener.
