COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
Brady Franks recorded a hat-trick for the Widener University men's lacrosse team, but the Pride was defeated by Colorado College 21-8 on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing by six early the second quarter, Franks got Widener on the scoreboard during a man-up advantage. Paz Gizmondi was on the assist. Drew Amlsey put another one in the cage for the Pride just before intermission.
Franks' second score came 14 seconds into the half. Six straight goals from the Tigers followed then
Patrick Richardson and Franks scored, making it 16-5 in favor of Colorado College going into the final quarter. Two goals from
Kyle Pollick and another from
Gavin Kirkwood gave Widener eight, but the early deficit was too much to overcome for the Pride.
