Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Dunbar, Heisman Each Score Twice for @WidenerLacrosse Against #12 Stevens

CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's lacrosse team turned in a strong defensive effort early, but was upended 17-7 by the #12 Stevens Ducks on Wednesday evening.

BY THE NUMBERS
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Stevens got the early jump in the game, but thanks to some fantastic play in net from Landry, Widener held the potent Ducks' offense at bay, knotting the score at 1-1 with 2:33 to go in the opening quarter on a tally from Heisman, assisted by Pollick.
  • Trailing 4-1 early in the second period, Kirkwood pulled the Pride closer, scoring an EMO goal off a Heisman feed. Stevens ended the half on a 5-0 run, taking a 9-2 lead into the break.
  • The two squads evenly split the third quarter tallies as goals by Dunbar, Certeza, and Heisman kept Widener within striking distance heading into the fourth.
  • After Dunbar recorded a man-up marker to open the fourth, Stevens pulled away down the stretch.
