GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Widener University men's volleyball team took part in its first tri-match of the season on Saturday afternoon with a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference tilts against Misericordia and Messiah. The Pride was upended in straight sets by both foes.
 
HIGHLIGHTS VS. MISERICORDIA (11-25, 16-25, 19-25)

• Wil Cacciatore led the Blue and Gold with seven kills in the match, adding three digs.
• A.J. Sungenis had three kills and a team-best five digs.
• Alex Arnow continued his solid freshman campaign with three digs, 11 assists, and two service aces.
• Widener posted a positive hitting percentage for the second straight match.

 
HIGHLIGHTS VS. MESSIAH (11-25, 7-25 19-25)

• Cacciatore and Arnow posted three kills each.
• Connor Johnson was high-man in assists with seven.
• Arnow also led the team with five digs.
• Zach Piotti added five blocks.

Widener returns to action on Wednesday, February 20 when it travels to Alvernia. Opening serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
