Chris Carideo Gets 200th Win with @WidenerMBB as Pride Takes Down Misericordia

CHESTER, Pa. – Head Coach Chris Carideo nabbed his 200th career win at Widener as the men's basketball team took down Misericordia 78-52 on Monday evening. 12 different players notched at least one point for the Pride.

  • Kenny Lewis shot 70 percent from the field on his way to 15 points.
  • Kolbey Woodard had a career-high 13 points. He added six boards and two assists.

How it happened
Widener's only deficit came in the opening seconds when the Cougars sunk a three to start the game. From then on, it was all Pride. A 13-0 run beginning with a Lewis layup and ending with a Peters finish on a fast break put WU up 10 four minutes into the contest. Misericordia brought it to within three at the halfway point of the period, but the Blue and Gold strung together 10 unanswered points, maintaining a double-digit advantage until the intermission.

WU led by as much as 35 at one point in the second half. Reserves saw more time as a result. Will Long, Anthony Alston Jr, and Bo Furey-Bastian combined for five points in the second. Deshawn Jones shot 50 percent from the floor, knocking down his only three point attempt and concluding the night with seven points.
