GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Widener University women's swimming team got a new month off on the right foot, winning both ends of dual meet, downing Hood 198-80 and topping Messiah 147-130.
It was the first time that Widener defeated Messiah, the defending MAC Champions, in seven years.

Angelina Franceschini got the first win of the day for the Pride in the 200 free, clocking in at 2:02.98. She later won the 200 fly in 2:16.82. Completing her individual day, Franceschini touched first in the 100 free in 57.06.

Kayli Hernandez continued her strong rookie campaign with a win in the 100 back at a time of 1:05.79.

Jill Bujanowski won the 50 free in 25.53. She also won the final two individual events of the day, claiming the 100 fly in 1:00.21 and the 200 IM in 2:16.04.

Emma Reistle took the top placement in the 200 back with her time of 2:18.58. Reistle also won the 500 free in 5:28.54.

The Pride returns to the pool on Saturday, November 9 at Immaculata. The meet is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
