READING, Pa. –
Lexi Slusher scored her fifth goal of the year but the Widener University women's soccer team dropped a MAC Commonwealth match against the Albright Lions on Wednesday night.
Highlights
How it happened
The Pride jumped out to an early lead, capitalizing on its first scoring opportunity of the night at the 11:21 mark. Albright evened the match shortly after. The teams went into the intermission knotted at one. WU outshot the Lions 5-4 in the first 45 minutes.
Widener got off two shots seven minutes into the second half, but solid goalkeeping kept the game in a deadlock. Two Albright goals, one on a penalty kick and the other coming on a free kick, in a 15-minute span created a deficit too large for the Blue and Gold to overcome.
