READING, Pa. – Lexi Slusher scored her fifth goal of the year but the Widener University women's soccer team dropped a MAC Commonwealth match against the Albright Lions on Wednesday night.

• Slusher found the back of the net in the 11th minute, receiving the assist from Melissa Koch.
• For Koch, the helper was her fourth of the year.
• Alyssa Dionisio, Isabella Hill, and Slusher had the team-high in shots with two each.
• Ashton Houbary made three saves.

How it happened
The Pride jumped out to an early lead, capitalizing on its first scoring opportunity of the night at the 11:21 mark. Albright evened the match shortly after. The teams went into the intermission knotted at one. WU outshot the Lions 5-4 in the first 45 minutes.

Widener got off two shots seven minutes into the second half, but solid goalkeeping kept the game in a deadlock. Two Albright goals, one on a penalty kick and the other coming on a free kick, in a 15-minute span created a deficit too large for the Blue and Gold to overcome.
