CHESTER, Pa. –
Ashton Houbary stopped a career-high 14 shots, but the Widener University women's soccer team fell to #1 Messiah 4-0 in a MAC Commonwealth matchup on Saturday night.
How it happened
The game was even at zero for the first 40 minutes. Two Messiah goals before the intermission created a steep hill for the Pride to climb in the second.
The WU offense increased its intensity in the second half, generating four shots.
Kimmy Lyons struck a free kick that just went over the cross bar in the 55th minute. The Falcons added their third shortly before the 70-minute mark.
Melissa Koch was responsible for the Pride's best scoring chance of the night, but the Messiah keeper kept the margin at three. One more away goal before the final whistle cemented the score.
