CHESTER, Pa. – Bella Abrams notched her third goal of the year as the Widener University women's soccer team tied the Hood College Blazers 1-1 in a MAC Commonwealth showdown on Saturday night.

How it happened
Hood opened the scoring in the 21st minute. WU forced three corner kicks before evening the match, capitalizing on the third. Hannah Berard played a high ball, finding the head of Abrams. The senior forward guided it past the reach of the Blazers keeper. The squads went into the break tied at one.

Widener fired off 10 shots in the second half. Strong goalkeeping kept the game at a deadlock. Lexi Slusher nearly gave broke the draw with a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar in the 83rd minute. 

Shots were even at four through both overtime periods. Ashton Houbary finished the night with seven saves, helping the Pride walk away with a point against a tough Blazers team.
