Brison Notches his Eighth Goal as @Widener_Soccer Falls to Alvernia

CHESTER, Pa. – Nick Brison scored his team-leading eighth goal, but the Widener University men's soccer team fell 3-1 to Alvernia on Wednesday night.

How it happened
Despite Alvernia controlling most of the possession early on, Widener scored first. A Golden Wolves foul forced a free kick just outside of the box. Peter O'Connor took the set piece, hitting a strike that was initially saved by the keeper. Brison was there for the rebound, tapping it into the back of the net and giving WU the lead in the 26th minute.

AU evened the score in the 41st minute. Alvernia gained the edge in the 64th minute. The Pride's best chance to erase the margin came in the 82nd minute. Nick LeFevre had a close shot saved by the Golden Wolves goalie. Another goal in the 87th minute cemented the final score.

Widener stays home, hosting Lebanon Valley for the final game of the regular season starting at 6:30 p.m. It is senior day for the Pride, with a ceremony honoring the upperclassmen taken place before the match.
