READING, Pa. – The Widener University field hockey team clinched MAC Commonwealth postseason berth for the first time since 2017, defeating the Alvernia Golden Wolves 1-0 on Wednesday night.
Madi Radnoff provided the lone goal of the contest in the third quarter.
With the result, Widener earned the three seed in the conference tournament. The Pride will travel to #2 Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, November 6 for a rematch with the Dutchmen beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Jackie Daniels fired off shots in the first period. Controlling possession, WU forced four penalty quarters in the second.
A penalty corner taken by
Bryn Marcavage set up the Pride goal.
Lexie Eberly got a shot off that was blocked.
Jesse Schlosser found Radnoff for her ninth goal of the year. For Schlosser, it was her team-leading seventh helper, giving her 19 points on the year.
Sabrina Roberto ended the night with five saves, making her the MAC Commonwealth regular season leader in goals against average and save percentage.
