Margaret Howe-Consiglio scored with a minute remaining in the third quarter, providing the only goal of the contest and propelling the Widener University field hockey team to 1-0 victory over the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins on Tuesday night.

How it happened
Physical early on, neither team generated a shot in the first quarter. A last-second save by the Gwynedd keeper just before the intermission kept the game scoreless at the half.
Offensive adjustments saw the Pride dominate possession in the third quarter. WU forced seven penalty corners and fired off five shots. Howe-Consiglio capitalized on a rebounded save coming from a
Madi Radnoff shot. The Blue and Gold defense limited the Griffins to two shots the rest of the way.
