Game Recap: Field Hockey |

@WidenerFHockey Edged at LVC, Ending Longest Win Streak in Program History

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Widener University field hockey team outshot Lebanon Valley 9-6, but the Pride suffered its first loss of the season, falling to the Dutchmen 1-0 on Friday afternoon.

The result ended the longest winning streak in the history of Widener field hockey at 12 games.

How it happened
Strong defense limited shot attempts in the first quarter. The teams combined for three in the first 15 minutes. The Pride attack picked it up in the second. Madi Radnoff and Jackie Daniels split five shots, but LVC keeper did not budge, making four crucial saves. The Dutchmen struck first in the 18th minute and carried its 1-0 lead into the intermission.

Widener held Lebanon Valley to zero shot attempts in the third quarter. LVC nearly matched the defensive intensity, allowing just one. Neither team gave an inch to the other until the last second, resulting in the 1-0 final.

Up next
Widener looks to bounce back in its third consecutive road game on Tuesday, October 15 when it takes on the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins at 6:00 p.m.
