@WUWBB Begins 2019 with a #MAChoops Win Over Lebanon Valley College

CHESTER, Pa. – A 19-4 run spanning the first and second quarter propelled the Widener University women's basketball team to win number 13 on Saturday afternoon. The Pride took down the Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College by a final score of 73-51.

First Quarter Notes:
  • Kyra Schenk dropped six points and grabbed two boards in the opening 10 minutes
  • Madison Ireland had five dimes
  • Five offensive rebounds and only one turnover for the Pride

Second Quarter Notes:
  • Emma Gardy hit two three-pointers
  • Mackenzie McCracken netted five points
  • Widener led the entire quarter, racking up seven assists in the process
  • The Blue and Gold shot 64 percent, going 9-14

Third Quarter Notes:
  • Devan Rimmer put up eight points
  • Helena Salmon provided a spark off the bench, assisting on three buckets
  • WU went 4-4 from the line in the quarter and scored 12 points in the paint

Fourth Quarter Notes:
  • McCracken piled on the points, scoring six more in the final 10 minutes
  • Olivia Pennypacker swished a three-pointer
  • The team recorded two steal and two blocks

Game Highlights:
  • Mackenzie McCracken finished with a career-high 13 points
  • Erin Phelan went for 14, shooting 64 percent from the field
  • Kyra Schenk tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The sophomore center also had two blocks and three steals
  • Devan Rimmer led all scorers on the day with 17
  • The reserves put up 21 points
  • 50 of the Pride's points came from within the paint
