CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University field hockey team started conference play on Saturday afternoon, but fell to #2 Messiah 4-1.

Madi Radnoff got her second goal of the season at the 27:30 minute mark, capitalizing on a rebounded save. Her goal cut Messiah's lead to 2-1 at the break. Sabrina Roberto made four spectacular saves in the first 35 minutes of play. The Pride keeper added two more saves in the second half.

Up next for Widener is a trip to DeSales University on Wednesday, September 26. Start time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
