ASTON, Pa. – The Widener University men's soccer team outshot the Neumann Knights 19-11 on Wednesday night but could not capitalize on its chances, dropping the match 3-1.
The Pride shot the ball seven times in the first 45 minutes, but excellent play from the Neumann keeper kept Widener out of the net.
Peter O'Connor scored his second goal of the season in the 64th minute, narrowing the Knights lead to 2-1. A Neumann goal in the 90th minute cemented the victory.
The Pride returns to action on Saturday, September 22 at 5:30 p.m. against #17 Mary Washington. Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium is the venue.
