GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Widener University men's soccer team picked up its fourth win of the season on Saturday afternoon, trouncing the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins 4-0. A pair of goals in each half, along with stellar defensive play for 90 minutes, led the Pride to victory.
Widener struck quickly, with its first goal coming in the seventh minute. About 36 minutes later, the Pride doubled its advantage right before the half. Two more goals during a four minute span in the second half solidified a Widener Pride W. The defense allowed one shot for the entirety of the match.
First Half Summary
- Nick Brison buried his fourth goal of the season at the 6:42 mark, shooting it in the lower left corner.
- Jude Morgan received the ball off a blocked free kick attempt and put it past the Griffin keeper to put the Pride ahead 2-0 at the 43:17 mark.
