CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's soccer team got off to a strong defensive start, but were upended by the Stevens Ducks 3-0 on Friday night.
The two teams battled for the first 30 minutes until a goal at the 31:48 mark broke the gridlock, giving the Ducks a 1-0 lead. Widener was able to stay in the game in the first half thanks to a pair of stellar saves from freshman keeper
Delaney Sabath. The game remained close into the 55th minute when Stevens scored their second goal. The Ducks added a third goal in the 63rd minute, cementing the final score.
The Pride returns to action on Sunday when it faces off against the Pfeiffer Falcons. Opening tap is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
