WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Widener University men's volleyball team closed its inaugural season with a 3-0 loss to the Wilkes Colonels in the final regular season match of the Middle Atlantic Conference season on Monday night.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Will Cacciatore and A.J. Sungenis led the Pride with six kills each. Cacciatore also topped the team with six digs.
• Connor Johnson had 13 assists to pace Widener.
• Matt Blaum had three blocks in the match.

 
SEASON WRAP

• Volleyball is the first men's sport to debut at Widener since 1968.
• Sungenis led the Blue and Gold with 181 kills (2.74 per set). Cacciatore was close behind with 173 (2.62 per set).
• The Pride picked up all three of its wins by 3-0 scores, downing Neumann, York (N.Y.), and Medgar Evers.
• Sungenis became the first Widener player to win a league award when he was named the MAC Player of the Week for the week ending March 25, 2018.
