GRANTHAM, Pa. – Brady Franks and Pax Gismondi each scored twice, but the Widener University men's lacrosse team fell 11-6 to the Messiah Falcons in a MAC Commonwealth contest on Wednesday night.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• In addition to the tallies by Franks and Gismondi, Mitchell Phillips and Kyle Groark each scored for the Pride.
• Kevin Kerby led the team with two assists.
• John Ferguson had two caused turnovers and two ground balls.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Falcons got off to a hot start, scoring four of the first five goals in the opening 10 minutes of play.
• Widener battled back, using a 3-1 run of its own bridging halftime to pull to 5-4 on a marker from Gismondi at the 10:41 mark of the third quarter.
• Messiah was able to steadily pull away through the remainder of the third and into the fourth, scoring four in a row and six of the final eight goals.
