MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Widener University men's lacrosse team pulled to within a goal in the final three minutes, but fell to the Rhodes Lynx 8-7 on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Rhodes scored the first goal of the game, Widener got a tally by Phillips and two by Dunbar to take a 3-2 lead with just under six minutes to go in the second quarter.
- The Lynx tied the game at the 1:17 mark of the second period and then scored the first two goals of the third to take a 5-3 lead at the 5:23 mark.
- Franks scored just seven seconds later to bring the Pride back within one, but Rhodes scored with just three second left in the frame to take a 6-4 lead into the fourth.
- Kerby opened the fourth period scoring at the 13:39 mark. The Lynx scored twice after that to take an 8-5 lead.
- Widener had one last push as Kerby and Kirkwood each scored in the final three minutes, but the Pride could not get the equalizer.
