CARLISLE, Pa. – Gavin Kirkwood netted a pair of goals, but the Widener University men's lacrosse team fell to the No. 12 Dickinson Red Devils 17-5 on Saturday afternoon.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• In addition to Kirkwood's tallies, Mitchell Phillips, Nick DiIorio, and Ben Davis found the back of the net for Widener.
• Chris Drake had two assists for the Pride.
• Anthony Paone won half of his faceoffs and scooped five ground balls for the Blue and Gold.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Dickinson jumped out early, scoring eight times in the first quarter.
• Widener scored two of the next three as David and DiIorio found rope 2:18 apart in the second period before the Red Devils took a 12-2 lead into halftime.
• The Pride held the game in check in the third, matching Dickinson's scoring output. The only goal of the fourth belonged to the Red Devils to cement the final score.
