CHESTER, Pa. – Wil Cacciatore had nine kills and five digs, but the Widener University men's volleyball team was upended 3-0 by the Messiah Falcons on Saturday afternoon.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Cacciatore led the team with his nine kills. A. J. Sungenis contributed with eight.
• Dave Lehmann toped the squad with 10 digs.
• Billy Barclay had 23 assists in the match.
• Widener hit .192 as a team, its second highest total of the season including .320 in the third set.
• After dropping the first set, the Pride fell behind 17-9 in the second before ripping off seven points in a row on Cacciatore's serve to pull to 17-16. Messiah recovered to put the set away.
• The Blue and Gold rushed out to an 8-3 lead in the third set before a Falcons' timeout shifted the momentum. Down 16-12, Widener made one last run to get back to 18-16, however Messiah scored seven of the final 10 points to end the match.
